Well then. I went to bed earlier, switched off the mobile in the vain hope that no well wishers would spoil my sleep, hoping I wouldn't feel like I do now. I woke up recently, switched on the mobile in the vain hope that it would inform me of all the missed calls and text messages I'd received whilst sleeping, and the 'phone informed me that it was 01/01/07.
How does it know?
I missed no calls and received no text messages by the way.

You know how it is. One night you go to bed, still feeling more or less young, with an eye for the girls and so forth, and next morning you wake up in the full consciousness that you're just a poor old fatty with nothing ahead of you this side the grave except sweating your guts out to buy boots for the kids.
